Safety First

At Current Builders, safety is not a goal. It is our primary performance standard. We follow a top-down commitment to safe performance and unsurpassed quality. No job is so important that it can't be performed safely.

Our safety program and procedures demand that every employee, every subcontractor, and every field construction project stand as an example of how to work expeditiously, without working in harms way. Toward that end, we have developed a comprehensive set of standards to ensure the safety of our workers and their work environment.

Our comprehensive Safety First Program includes, but is not limited to:

• A full time Director of Risk Management on staff to monitor and direct our comprehensive occupational safety program and oversee our QC/QA program and personnel
• Weekly safety meetings for all contractors and subcontractors
• CPR training for all managers
• A drug-free workplace
• Recurrent safety training for all employees
• A signed CHASE (Construction Health and Safety Excellence) White Level Partnership in Safety with OSHA and the AGC to keep us at the forefront of leading-edge construction safety performance

Current Builders is a founding partner in the Florida CHASE (Construction Health And Safety Excellence), a partnership between OSHA, AGC and member contractors. We have recently been granted SHARP (Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program) status. SHARP is an OSHA partnership. The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program recognizes small employers who operate an exemplary safety and health management system. Acceptance into SHARP by OSHA is an achievement of status that will single out CB among our business peers as a model for worksite safety and health. Current Builders is one of a handful of GC’s in the US who have attained this status and only one of two in Florida.
